FilmNation is Heading back to Sundance 2019 with 3 Projects!!

FILMNATION is headed to Sundance once again with three exciting projects.

Late Night, a modern comedy written by Mindy Kaling and directed by Nisha Ganatra, will have its world premiere in the Premieres section. And when you’re ready for a bit of a scare, make sure to check out Goodnight Mommy creators’ newest horror, The Lodge, premiering in the Midnight section, and Jennifer Kent’s The Nightingale, playing in the Spotlight section.

Two years ago, Sundance was home to the World Premiere of The Big Sick. Last year, two of our sales titles, Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot and Wildlife, made their way to Park City. And this year, we’re getting our snow gear ready to do it all again.

The 2019 Sundance Film Festival will run from January 24th - February 3rd, 2019. You can find the full line-up here.

LATE NIGHT Director: Nisha Ganatra Writer: Mindy Kaling Cast: Emma Thompson, Mindy Kaling, John Lithgow, Paul Walter Hauser, Reid Scott, Amy Ryan

Legendary late-night talk show host’s world is turned upside down when she hires her only female staff writer. Originally intended to smooth over diversity concerns, her decision has unexpectedly hilarious consequences as the two women separated by culture and generation are united by their love of a biting punchline.

THE LODGE Director: Severin Fiala, Veronika Franz Writers: Sergio Casci, Severin Fiala, Veronika Franz Cast: Riley Keough, Jaeden Martell, Lia McHugh, Alicia Silverstone, Richard Armitage, Daniel Keough

In this psychologically chilling slow burn, a young woman and her reticent new stepchildren find themselves isolated in the family’s remote winter cabin, locked away to dredge up the mysteries of her dark past and the losses that seem to haunt them all.

THE NIGHTINGALE Director: Jennifer Kent Writer: Jennifer Kent Cast: Sam Claflin, Aisling Franciosi, Baykali Ganambarr

1825. Clare, a young Irish convict woman, chases a British officer through the Tasmanian wilderness, bent on revenge for a terrible act of violence he committed against her family. On the way she enlists the services of Aboriginal tracker Billy, who is marked by trauma from his own violence-filled past.

The 2019 Sundance Film Festival will run from January 24th - February 3rd, 2019. You can find the full line-up here.
